These terms govern your use of the calories.coach website and web app (the “Service”). By using the Service you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use it.

1. Eligibility & account

You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. You sign in with Google, and you’re responsible for keeping access to that account secure and for activity that happens under your account.

2. Not medical advice

calories.coach is a wellness and informational tool, not a medical service. Its calorie targets, nutrition figures and meal suggestions are estimates and may be inaccurate. It does not provide medical, nutritional or health advice and is not a substitute for a qualified professional. Always consult a doctor or registered dietitian before making significant changes to your diet, especially if you are pregnant, have a medical condition, or a history of disordered eating. Use the Service at your own discretion.

3. Estimates & AI

Calorie and nutrition values — including those generated by AI from your photos, descriptions or voice, and those shown for built‑in or imported recipes — are approximations. We don’t guarantee their accuracy, completeness or suitability for any purpose. Treat them as a guide, not a precise measurement.

4. Your content

You keep ownership of the content you add (meals, photos, recipes, notes, etc.). You grant us the limited licence needed to store, process and display that content to operate the Service for you — including sending it to our service providers (such as Google’s AI) for analysis. You’re responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload anything you submit, and that imported recipes or text don’t infringe someone else’s rights.

5. Acceptable use

Don’t misuse, disrupt, reverse‑engineer, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service.
Don’t upload unlawful, harmful or infringing content, or use the Service to harass others.
Don’t use automated means to scrape or overload the Service.

6. Third‑party services

The Service relies on third parties (e.g. Google, Supabase, Netlify, USDA, and any wearable you connect). Your use of those features is also subject to their terms, and we’re not responsible for their services.

7. Availability

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. It may change, be interrupted, or be discontinued at any time without notice. We don’t warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error‑free or secure.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, calories.coach and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for any health outcomes, decisions, or losses arising from your use of — or reliance on — the Service or its estimates.

9. Termination

You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms or misuse the Service.

10. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms. The “last updated” date above shows the current version.
